"Our goal is to raise beef that we are personally comfortable in consuming,"
Mark C. Ingram, DVM, Franklin Road Animal Hospital.
We started raising cows to provide beef for our own family. When the herd got large enough we decided to share with our vet clinic family too. All our beef is USDA inspected, and our pricing on steaks, roasts and hamburger meat is better than any market or privately owned farm...
These cows live happy lives on our farm in Chapel Hill. They are free-range and grass fed. They have no insecticides, no back rubs, no hormones. They could be labeled "organic", however for us "natural" works and we don't have to jump through any government hoops. Their grazing pastures have not been fertilized for at least the 15 years we have owned them. This meat is lean, it could be compared to venison. The ground hamburger beef is so lean that oil has to be added to the pan in order to cook it.
Please do not use your microwaves when feeding your animals and remember that RAW is best for them. . . Our own finicky cat runs to the kitchen and cries whenever we get the hamburger meat out to cook for us, until we share with her.
With the scientific data that has been published concerning Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids, grass-fed beef is far better for human nutrition than grain-fed beef. It is well known that we are short on Omega 3's in America. Grass-fed beef has a 3 to 1 Omega 6 / Omega 3 ratio...Feed lot beef a 20 to 1 ratio. We recommend the high Omega 3 beef for man and beast for optimum health.
